Evesham Arts Centre welcomes back a fantastic double-bill: two outstanding tribute acts to two 1960s pop icons – Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison. Darren Paige, Marc Robinson and the Counterfeit Crickets will be playing all their hits – live on stage – on Saturday 27 April.
Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly both grew up in the same part of Texas, recorded early work in the same studio in New Mexico and even at one point recorded the same songs. Roy Orbison went on to write so many great songs including ‘Only the Lonely’ and ‘Crying’, while Buddy Holly’s short career earned him a place (13th) in Rolling Stone‘s 100 Greatest Artist of all Time.
Darren Paige and Marc Robinson have built successful careers dedicated to Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly respectively, each performing all over Great Britain and around the world. Marc Robinson’s performance as Buddy Holly in Evesham last year went down a storm in front of a full house. Now they come together – backed by the Counterfeit Crickets – in an uplifting two-hour show that will entertain audiences with all the hits and more!
Will Rock n Roll ever die? That’ll be the day!
The music starts at 7.30pm on Saturday 27 April. Tickets priced at £18.00 (concessions £17.00) are on sale now from Evesham Almonry, 01386 446944 and www.EveshamartsCentre.co.uk, and are selling briskly!
