Soul Sanctuary Studios has teamed up with Springfield Mind as its local charity partner to kick off its fundraising and awareness activities by providing unlimited yoga during International Stress Awareness Week, which takes place between 4–8 November.
Soul Sanctuary’s founder, Laura Butcher, is a strong believer in yoga’s effectiveness at combating stress and wants everybody to experience the positive impact yoga can have on their lives. As such, Soul Sanctuary is offering a week of free yoga at its Wayland’s Yard and Spetchley Park Gardens studios in Worcestershire during the awareness week. Existing Soul Sanctuary members will also enjoy unlimited yoga during this time.
A 2017 study by the Department of Psychology at Lund University in Sweden found that people who took up weekly yoga sessions felt significant reductions in stress, as well as other psychological health measures such as anxiety, depression and insomnia.
Laura said: ‘Yoga is typically associated with its physical benefits, such as flexibility and injury prevention, but many people are unaware of how it can benefit you psychologically. We’re seeing a rise in the number of people suffering from stress and anxiety, and I want as many people as possible to experience how yoga can combat this.’
Jo Min, Deputy Chief Executive of Springfield Mind, said: ‘We are delighted to be working with Soul Sanctuary for International Stress Awareness Week, and Laura and the team have been doing great things to help others improve their mental well-being.’
