The Courtyard brings its pantomime to those who can’t make it to the theatre

The Courtyard will be live-streaming its pantomime Cinderella for the very first time this January.

The initiative is part of The Courtyard’s expanding community outreach programme, aimed at enabling live performances to reach those who are unable to get to the theatre, and is being undertaken in partnership with Shropshire-based production company Wild Edric Media, which specialises in live-streaming for many theatres around the UK. For this reason, the panto will be securely streamed to patients at Hereford County Hospital, as well as residents in care homes across the county.

“We are delighted that our panto will now be enjoyed by adults and children alike who, for a variety of reasons, would be unable to see Cinderella if not for the live-stream technology,” said Marketing and Sales Officer, Oliver Wheatley. “We’ve seen how popular this initiative has been with other UK theatres and thought it was time to bring it to Herefordshire, using the expertise and technology from Wild Edric Media.”

Cinderella is currently playing to full audiences and has received critical acclaim from both critics and audiences alike.

Carl Walker of Wild Edric Media added: “We are thrilled to be working with The Courtyard on its first ever panto live-stream, enabling it to be seen by online viewers in hospital and care homes. We’ve built up a lot of experience in this area, having live-streamed many UK theatre productions over the years, with two other panto live-streams happening in Wales and Gloucestershire just before Christmas, and we’re delighted to be now working with one of our local theatre venues.”

Cinderella will be on in The Courtyard’s Main House until Saturday 11 January. For more information or to book tickets, call the Box Office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk.
